Happy Labor Day! - My Favorite Time Of Year

September

Hey all. I’m kicking this site off with my first post which, ironically, is being written on Labor Day. If you ask any of my friends, I should be outdoors basking in the glorious sunshine, but instead I’m sitting in my office…ok…so it’s a coffee shop, but still, I’m working.

So why am I working on such a fine day, and a national, if not international holiday to boot? Because I’ve slacked off all Summer enjoying myself and working occasionally. But now, as Summer begins its slow demise into Fall, I find myself slowly being drawn back into somewhat of a “normal” routine. Kids are getting back to school, people are coming off of Summer vacations, and work schedules are being defined once again. It’s time to take stock of where you are and where you’re headed. I’ve always felt that this is the time of year where I should be evaluating what I’ve done since the New Year and to check if I’m on track with any resolutions I made back then. If not, then I have four months to start. Fortunately, I have kept up most of my New Year’s resolutions, this site being one of them. So I’m in good standing with myself…:)

I assume that it goes without saying that we all need to sit back and re-evaluate from time-to-time. However, for me, that time is not during the Summer months. I definitely slow down and “smell the roses”, so this time of year is perfect for getting re-energized and stoked about the coming months. And even though you may not want to be reminded right now, the Christmas holidays are approaching and if you are like me, there’s more down-time to be had. So I better put in some focused and committed work time so I can live the life I’m accustomed to…:)

What is your favorite time of year? Is their a time when you take stock of where you are and where you want to be? I’d love to hear about it so please feel free to leave a comment.

Take care and all the best.

Lyle
